History background

- 30 January 1990: the “Drug Analysis Center” was established under the health minister’s agreement No. 79/MOH to test the quality of pharmaceutical products.

- 5 June 1995: the center’s name was changed to the “Food and Drug Quality Control Center” (FDQCC) under the health minister’s agreement No. 886/MOH as the center’s roles and functions were expanded, in particular for food safety control, and in order for compliance with the law enforcement of the food and drug department (FDD).

- 28 October 2005: FDQCC’s roles and functions were revised and approved under the health minister’s agreement No. 1378/MOH to respond to the social and economic development.

- 21 April 2020: the roles and functions were further revised as the activities had been expanded, not only in testing areas. Therefore, the latest revision was approved under the health minister’s agreement No. 0885/MOH.
